Introduction to Computer System

A computer is an electronic machine that accepts user input, processes it, and produces valuable information as output. A computer accepts input in a variety of formats, including data, programmes, and user responses. The term "data" refers to the raw details that must be processed in order to provide usable information. Programs are a collection of instructions that can be performed sequentially or non-sequentially by a computer. The input produced by the user in answer to a question posed by the computer is known as a user reply.

A computer is a collection of devices that work together as a system to perform the functions listed above (Fig. 1). These are the devices:

CPU (Central Processing Unit): It is the computer's processor that is in charge of controlling and executing instructions in the computer. It is regarded as the computer's most important component.

Monitor: After receiving video signals from the computer, a monitor is a screen that displays information in visual form.

Keyboard and Mouse: The keyboard and mouse are the devices that the computer uses to receive input from the user.
